13th December (10am) – The final three for Best Newcomer at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023 has been announced today, by the National Federation of Fish Friers.

The top three, based across Staffordshire, Yorkshire and Suffolk, have been finalised following extensive judging from an anonymous panel of industry experts.

The Best Newcomer category celebrates businesses that started no earlier than January 2021 and is sponsored by Sarson’s, the UK malt vinegar brand owned by Mizkan.

The top three shortlisted are:

• Haughton Fish & Chips
• Lighthouse Fisheries of Flamborough
• Hendo’s Fish & Chips

Commenting on the news, Andrew Crook, President at the NFFF, said “The final three for Best Newcomer have now undergone three rounds of extensive judging and are well deserving of this shortlisting position. It’s been a difficult few years for the fish and chip industry, as well as the rest of the world, so it’s great to celebrate businesses who are continuing to succeed.”

The awards ceremony, hosted by The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), will take place on the 28th of February 2023 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.

Comedian and presenter, Jason Manford, will present this year’s awards and although the guest list is industry-focused, tickets are also open to the general public and discounted accommodation is available with ticket sales.
